Dschang-UDs-SIC-11/03/17: The University of Dschang has been hustling and bustling relentlessly to join the 53 member states of the Commonwealth to celebrate the 2017 edition of the Commonwealth day, slated for Monday 13 March 2017, under the theme: “a peace-building Commonwealth”. For almost 3 weeks, all stakeholders on Commonwealth issues in the university have been striving to ensure total success in this year’s celebration, reason why the VC sent an official delegation to Yaoundé for more insights on Commonwealth issues. In this light, a 3 man delegation made up of Mbuih Zukane, Dr Afutentendem and Mrs Rachel Sonkin traveled to Yaoundé on Thursday March 9th and had a one on one with Pr Leke Tambo, Focal person of Commonwealth of Learning and Mr Didyme Ondoa, the Director of Legal cooperation in the Ministry of External Relations. Before this visit, four preparatory meetings were held; the first with the VC on January 23rd , 2017, the second on March 1st 2017, the third on March 10th and the last on March 11th 2017. Besides these meetings, series of activities have been taking place, including a football encounter and a peace-walk. On the Commonwealth day proper, a conference shall be organized, animated by Pr Lilian Lem Atanga and Dr Afutendem, which will be closely followed by socio-cultural activities and exhibitions.
