20th Edition of the University games

The ambiance of take off

Bamenda-SIC/UDs-22/04/17.The 20^th Edition of the university games that drew over 2362 athletes and fans club with 164 coaches 260 officials and the 19 man delegation of the nation’s Higher and Private institutions of learning gathered at the University of Bamenda for the take off of the very attractive and competitive sporting event. Before the official ceremony slated to commence at 11:00a.m a fitness walk kicked off at the Bamenda central town involving all the delegations that came for the 2017 university games with the Minister of Higher Education at the helm of the fitness walk. The Dschang delegation in its usual colourful outing made its mark known to the beautiful town of Bamenda as the Vice Chancellor, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso and his delegation displayed a high sense of their sportsmanship during the walk. It is worth noting that the games have started in earnest with the University of Dschang’s female basketball team locking horns this morning with the University of Yaoundé 1, while in the male category UDs will trash it out with Siantou.   Later during the day, the University of Dschang female football team will clash with the Female squad of the University of Douala in a heated encounter as the male handball team will be opposed to that of the University of Yaoundé 1, while the female team will clash with UD. Other activities slated for the 22^nd include volleyball as preparations gear up for day two.  The 2017 games has a pack of events to thrill the population of the Northwest region and  participants of the competition as the event unfolds.
