A blue print to excellence 2022/2023 academic year
Dschang,UDs/SIC-01/11/22. The University of Dschang’s Post Graduate School held today, the 1st November 2022, its 7th session of the scientific board meeting, to map out academic activities scheduled for the 2022/2023 academic year. With the aim of auto evaluating the performance of the PG school, the board was presided over by its President, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, who during the session outlined key statistics. Not very satisfied with the numerical statistics of the present disposition of students despite the aggressive campaign, he reiterated that the presence of 11 State universities and the 420 Private Institutions of Higher Learning in the country was a platform for intense competition. He stated that the 2021/2022 academic year at the PG school ended smoothly with a total of 1,781 new students with 488 students at the Master Research level, 1,090 Professional Masters, and 243 PhD year 1 students.
To compare previous years, it shows a significant drop in the number of students in the domain of research and an increase at the professional field. Nonetheless, the treatment of complaints for 2021/2022 PG School stood at 144, with 84 treated and 30 not treated cause a majority was received just today being Monday.
During the same academic year, 1352 scientific works were defended with 442 in research masters, 889 in professional Masters and 420 at the PhD level giving a percentage of 90.28% for Masters in research, 86.28% in Professional Masters and 31.06% at the PhD level and a total of 252 students withdrawn from the PhD program. The President called on the PG school to improve on their work so as to have a smooth academic year as the selections per each Dschang School was done behind close doors for the 2022/2023 academic year in progress.
