UDs on the right track on day 3 in CHAZU ZONE D
Dschang,UDs/SIC-/28/04/25.The athletics disciplines swung into action from day two of the Zonal University Championship CHAZU Zone D with a resounding start. The disciplines involved the 5000m, 100m, 400m, shot put, and 4* 100m all in women and men categories. UDs lined up two athletes for the women’s 5000m, NGONGANG Gael and MGOUMBE Genevive with Gael qualifying for the FINAJU. In the men’s category, DONGMO Landry emerged 2nd, thus qualifying.
For the 100m in the male category, KAMWA Landry and PEMENECK Cyril qualified in this series. The female category in the 100m saw DJUKA Julie and NKOWA Yvana qualify for the finals. In the Women’s 400m, WANA Vanelle of UDs qualified in this series while SATEU Loic qualified in the 400m in the male series. In the shot put segment, NGUELA Salomon qualified for the FINAJU while, TAWA Vanielle clinched a ticket in the female series. In the 4* 100m, Team UDs secured a ticket to the finals in both categories.
Day-3 of the Athletics competition saw UDs compete in 800m in the women and men’s series with UDs securing its way in both categories. In the 200m women and male category, UDs secured the 1&3 positions in the male segment and 2nd position in the female’s category. In the Relay 4*400m UDs got the first positions in both categories. In the last discipline of Discord, UDs got the 1st position in the male series and in the female segment clinched the 1st & 2nd positions.
With this start, UDs are poised to continue to work hard in the days ahead with better performances in the athletics and Paralympic disciplines .TD
