1^st Ever Cultural Week celebration at UDs

Dschang,UDs/SIC-29/05/23.Over 500 students joined the Department of Communication of the University of Dschang to celebrate its 1^st ever cultural week; tagged CECOM 2023 at the university Auditorium slated from the 27^th -30^th May 2023.This highly rich event showcased the talented students’ prowess as well as the presentation of the Department. The week included a full park of activities such as; a conference, Dance, -Playbacks, Sketches, musical comedy, Competition for the best audio spot and a Miss Pageant. The cultural week of the communication sector is an initiative of the unit of communication students (CECOM) since its creation in 2016 (Professional Bachelor Degree). It is worthy to note that the Department since 2022 now boasts of a research Bachelor and Master’s programme.

This event, did not only rally students of communication but also students of Psychology, German, Spanish, Italian languages among other disciplines of the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences. For the President of CECOM, Dominique GNITELAP she views this as an opportunity for all students to pick interest in the discipline since it is Trans disciplinary in nature and it will help showcase the talents brewed in the Department to the whole world. Others like Blandine KANkOP think it’s an appropriate venue to showcase what they have learnt so far and entertain the university community. Since its 7 years of existence, the 2022/2023 batch with their slogan to communicate is to dare are poised to ensure they extend their skills in communication for the development of the nation in all its facets. This cultural event kick-started with a conference on the Stakes of Communication on Saturday the 27^th and will be concluded with a football match and a gala on the 30^th May 2023/
