UDs organises preparatory seminar
Dschang, UDs/SIC-20/01/17. A preparatory seminar to fine tune the role of staff of the financial services of the University took place on the 20th of January 2017 at the International House of the University of Dschang. The event which started at 10.00 am was presided over by the Vice Chancellor and coordinated by the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the University of Dschang. During the event that drew together over 25 participants from different financial units of the university, three exposes were presented to participants on “the procedure of budget execution in the Accounting office of the University” by the AC/UDs, the treatment and handing of files by the DBAF and innovations contained in the execution of the 2017 budget in MINFI” by the Financial Controller/UDs. The exchange platform is geared towards answering pertinent questions on the proper financial management circuit in the university as well as a bedrock to present innovative ideas to boost internal revenue generation of the institution.
During the launching speech of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tsafack Roger Nanfosso lauded with appreciation the timely presentation of the University budget during the 35th Administrative Council meeting and called on the staff of the financial services to remain steadfast in the preparation and execution of the budget as well as respect the stated budgetary regulations. The VC exalted the adherence of the financial services to its obligations in the proper management of the University’s budget. He added that resolutions and recommendations are welcomed to better enhance services, enjoining all to embrace the collective dynamism. He then reassured all that there was a satisfactory synergy between the auditors and the University accountant during the previous audit controls and made it clear that for the first time the budget will be executed in the month of January. Prof Tsafack Nanfosso added that although the budget had constraints with no increase government’s subvention, it was imperative for participants to brainstorm further on ways to internally generate revenue for the University. He emphasised the increase in revenue gotten from the previous year of 60 million to 144 million and encouraged all to play their role in the growth of the university through mobilizing, ensuring efficacy and projecting diligence in all they do. This seminar will enlighten participants and table questions on the proper conduct on managing financial files and attaining expected obligations/
