700 UDs students partake in National Youth day
Dschang. UDs/SIC-11/02/18. The 2018 National Youth day under the theme Youth, multiculturalism, Peace and National Unity was celebrated in Dschang with glamour as the students of the University of Dschang expressed their readiness to work in the pathways inscribed by the Head of State through the messages on their banners. The celebration which commenced at 10:00am prompt with the rebroadcast of the speech of the President of the Republic in the English and French called on youths to shun violence and manipulation, imbibe a sense of duty as well as embrace multiculturalism. It also urged the youths to massively take part in the forth-coming elections and be vectors for the emergence of the nation.
During UDs passage which was marked by an exquisite display of talents and diversity, 700, university students took part carrying various banners and placards. The newly created Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences the baby of the university lead the march pass dressed in their white lab jackets and carrying medical equipment to illustrate the faculty’s preparedness to work towards developing minds and saving lives. The Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences followed suit with some students of Cartography displaying their tools while the other sections of students wore the traditional blue and white sport wears carrying the banner of the national youth day theme. The Faculty of Economics and Management in the same blue and white stripe sport wears were next with the message Cameroonians from North to South from East to West behind values of bilingualism and multilingualism.
The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences followed with their traditional green robes and had as massage All for one and indivisible Cameroon while the Faculty of Sciences was next with their white lab jackets and carried the message the Cameroon youth, staying together in tolerance, justice and patriotism. The Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences in their usual blue field wear and rain boots gallantly marched pass carrying the message Youth, Multiculturalism, Peace and National Unity. The peak of the march pass was the passage of over 25 foreign students with different flags representing the students from the countries of the CEMAC zone. This showcased the university’s hospitality and its quest to actively play its academic role in the CEMAC zone. IUT/FV followed next dressed in black suits highlighting with placards all the existing departments in the Institution. Then came the turn of the Institute of Fine Arts with their blue sport wears which carried messages like IBAF together for a culture of assiduity, work and national construction. CRESA students from Nkolbisson Yaoundé and FMBEE in Ebolowa equally present carried the message lets respect the national emblem respect our flag, our unity. The Annex of Bafia, sporting and cultural clubs followed suit as well as coaches to wrap up the passage of the university in splendid color. This 2018 national youth day theme is a pivot for the youths of today especially as the country’s stability depends on the youths themselves.
