Call for Application for African students working on cassava

Dschang. UDs/SIC-02/03/18.Applications for scholarship for 2018 is being announced by FUNAGIB (Kuwait Foundation for the advancement of science) for African students working on cassava. Application deadline is 31^st May 2018 and studies should begin at Brasilia by 1^st September 2018. Candidates for this scholarship should have completed their masters or Doctorate courses credits and in phase of preparing their thesis. Major Field of study should be on cassava either plant breeding or related field. Training in Brasilia shall include synthesizing chimera by both horticultural and tissue techniques, plus training on cytogenetic preparations and genomic proteome to trace chimera formation.

Guidelines

• Application must send email the following documents:
• A recommendation letter from faculty or supervisor
• Curriculum vitea
• Academic history
• State declaring commitment of the student to four month of the research on periclinal cassava to improve the crop to be conducted at Brasilia, Brazil. This subject should be part of the final thesis

Award Amount: R$ 20000(twenty thousand reais-Us$1.00=R$3.2 more or less according to real fluctuation), including air ticket and for months staying at the university of Brasilia. Food and accommodation offered at reduced cost at the University restaurant
