Presentation of 2020 New Year Wishes to VC

Homage to the retired staff of UDs

Dschang,UDs/SIC- 27/01/20 Amongst the key activities that took place during the presentation of the New Year wishes to the VC was the homage paid to the retired staff of the UDs. This ceremony took place at the Amphitheatre -1000 on Friday the 24^th of January 2020. The act was so symbolic as the DAAF/UDs, Prof Wansi Lea Sylvie reiterated on  the importance and the role played by the legendary staff in building the name and reputation of the University of Dschang with its foot prints both at the National and International sphere. After a warm salutation to all, Prof. Wansi Lea Sylvie mentioned that paying homage to the retired staff has become a traditional ritual at the University of Dschang as it dates as far back as 2003. Amongst them were six women and eleven men, a total of seventeen. They were M.Tangang Paul Wanky, M.Kenfack Edouard, M.Kaptouom, Mme Momo nee Ndong Angele, Mme Nguelemo Therese, M.Tagne,Mme Fokou nee Kenfack Celestine, M.Che Francis Chenyi, Mme Nkamagueu Bernadette, Mme Okoumou nee Mvondo, M.Taboula Joseph, M.Bouba Garavanda,M.Manze Henn Ngiembe, M.Mme Zeukeng Jeannette, Mme Ndouoya Gharie, M.Cheta Gilbert, M.Zeutebeuk Etienne. They all had the privilege to shake hands with the VC who congratulated each of them one after the other. The speech made by the VC equally touched on the importance of the retired as he mentioned “all the retired staff of the University of Dschang deserve the homage paid to them”. A corroborative action hereto, was a letter of gratitude signed and addressed by the VC to each of the concerned. To show the satisfaction of the University community towards the staff, each of them were instantly given a month’s salary, an act which left a smile on their faces as well as boosting the spirit of commitment in those still in active service./LD
