The Head of State adds steam power to UDs

“An experience team joins the collective dynamics” Rector

Dschang,UDs/SIC-22/07/24.The Honorable Fondjio Auditorium of the University of Dschang, on July 22^nd 2024, played host to some key dignitaries and members of the university community who came to witness the installation ceremony of some top ranking officials of the University of Dschang. The event was principally marked by the Rector’s speech preceded by the reading of the Presidential appointment decrees N^o 2024/295 and 2024/294 of the 10^th of July 2024 by the Head of the Communication unit. The Rector, Prof. Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, in his installation speech congratulated the outgoing staff for their input in making the University of Dschang maintain its spirit of excellence. Those on retirement included; the Vice Rector, Prof Wamba Henri (VRECOME) and Dean of FAAS, Prof. Bitom  Dieudonne. The Head of the institution appreciated the grace they have had to carry out their professional career till the age of retirement.

For the outgoing VREPTIC, Prof Njoya and outgoing Technical adviser, Prof GATSI jean, called upon to carry out the same functions in other universities, the Rector implored them to exercise the same commitment as they had done while here at UDs, The head of the institution then wished the best of appointments in the days ahead for the outgoing DAAF, Mr Atangana Jule Roche. He regretted their leaving, declaring that UDs owes its success to them.  

To the newly appointed staff, the Rector congratulated the incoming VREPTIC and VRCOME appointed in the rank of Secretary General and the incoming Technical Adviser, DAAF and Dean of FAAS appointed in the rank of directors. Exploring their rich profiles, he revealed that Prof. Nadine NACHIKOU NGAMENI, the incoming VREPTIC is not a stranger to the University of Dschang given the numerous collaboration ties she had with UDs and  other Universities like that of Toulouse. She is expected to bring in constructive and innovative programs geared towards uplifting the image of UDs.

 The incoming VRCOME, Prof. Bernard-Raymond GUIMDO on his part had equally collaborated with UDs by offering fluid academic interventions which earned him the nickname ‘le myth du droit public’. Though being his highest function so far in Cameroon universities, the Rector, expressed pride for having such a renowned personality of public law as a top ranking official of the University of Dschang expecting of him qualitative and quantitative programs for UDs’ betterment.

The expectations for the incoming Technical Adviser, Prof. ZAMO AKONO Christian who had participated in various ceremonies at UDs, is to give constructive advise to push UDs forward drawing from his rich knowledge of the Ministry of Higher Education and his various services as a consultant. For those appointed to the rank of Directors, Prof. Sidonie NJOFACK was presented as a symbol of strength and energy for youths and womanfolk. Being versed with quality control she is expected to procure increase at the financial domain for UDs. The Rector   equally expressed joy for having the incoming Dean of FAAS, Prof. ASAM ASAM Jean Paul as UDs hopes to tap from his rich administrative and financial skills given the fact that he had served as Rector for the Adventist University at Nanga Eboko.

The head of the institution’s pleasure of having two new amazones join the university Council increasing the number of women to that prestigious council to four women out of 23 was quite glaring. Believing in women’s hardworking and assiduous nature, the Rector showed optimism as it will be reflected in their output. He called upon the newly appointed to adhere to the collective dynamic spirit governing UDs while inviting them from henceforth to participate in all UDS’ ceremonies like the forth coming closing ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year scheduled on July 31^st 2024. The installation ceremony ended with the presentation of gifts to the outgoing and bouquets of flowers to the incoming officials who equally received congratulatory greetings from the DO, SDO, some traditional chiefs, other authorities and family members who graced the occasion. Through the installation ceremony, a new page was then open for UDs indicating a glorious future for this citadel of knowledge /
