Entrepreneurial platform for internship
Dschang, 02/06/21. A partnership agreement between the University of Dschang and Guinness Cameroon SA was signed on the 2nd of June 2021 at the Chancellery hall. Being one of the State Universities in Cameroon, and the 9th university visited, the University of Dschang will benefit from the 40 to 50 internship opportunities offered by Guinness Cameroon to the Cameroonian institutions. The best students of the final year and Masters programs from the Faculty of Economics and Management are those eligible to benefit from such for now. The internship program is slated to run for 3 to 6 months during which the interns will be remunerated. Guinness Cameroon will in subsequent years extend their tentacles to include other faculties..
During a working session, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Roger Tsafack Nonfosso reiterated the quest of the university in imbibing entrepreneurial spirit in its graduates through its training platforms such as the CATI2, Pierre Castle, its professional institutions and faculties. He stated that the University of Dschang is the right place for such brewed talents. The Director of Human Resources, Mr Hervé Ngamaleu Yossa representing Guinness Cameroon stated that Guinness Cameroon is part of the multinational group called DIAGEO, present in about 850 countries around the world employing more than 20, 000 people. For Guinness HRD, this visit helps to demystify popular preconceptions about the company which does not only manufacture, distribute its products and research, but goes beyond to give university students a chance to benefit from pre-employment internship opportunities in various sectors of its services; production, sales, and strategy. It is worthy to mention that Guinness, finances the cultivation of sorghum among the Cameroonian populations and as such encourages the fight against unemployment and poverty We think that success in the real sense of the word is not only financial but social, thus a need to impact the community. He stated that it was a vital platform to collaborate with the university milieu in getting the best students in specialized domains and accompanying them in realizable projects, highlighting that competence is cardinal. At the end of the exchanges, students were briefed on the opportunities offered at Guinness Cameroon and were encouraged to apply. L.D
