Women urged to be instruments of peace
Dschang-SIC/UDs 08/03/17.The activities for the 2017 edition of the International Women’s Day which had as theme “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030” came to its end with a colorful march pass at the ceremonial ground in Dschang. The occasion which had in attendance the SDO, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Dschang among other key dignitaries of the Division witnessed the colorful and exotic display of the women of the division. The ceremony which started at 10 am was animated by the fanfare of the university as women of all works of life dressed in their special fabric represented different services with placards carrying messages of togetherness, urging women to be instruments of unity and peace and working hand in glove in the fight against terrorism.
The University of Dschang as usual in their remarkable style spice the event with over 500 female staff and 22 male staff who supported the women during the march pass. The university female staff train was led by Prof Wansi Sylvie, Prof Kalieu Elongo Yvette and Prof Fon Dorothy as female students from the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences and the majorette added glamour to the wonderful display. The performance was equally made more colorful by the massive representation of the female staff from CRESA who showcased the university’s grandeur in the country. It is worth noting that prizes were presented to meritorious female staff in the division as well as in the various faculties of the University of Dschang. The march pass ended by 1.00 PM as celebrations continued at the university restaurant were staff were thrilled to light refreshment in the company of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso./
