UDs clinch 2^nd position in 5000m men

Maroua,07/05/18.Athletics competition entered day two of play today with UDs lining up athletes in the following finals: discord men and ladies, triple jump men, 5000m men, 400m ladies, 100m ladies. It was a very fast and highly competitive race in the 5000m men where UDs lined up Temezeu Pierre and Tene MBA Giresse. Leading the race for the last two rounds was Temezeu but was surprisingly overtaken by Endeley of INJS just 100m to the finish line to clinch the gold thus killing the hope of Temezeu Pierre of becoming the champion in this category. With the second position UDs grabbed a silver medal, while Tend MBA Giresse ended the race at the 4th position. Discord men saw Eyango Christian come 4th meanwhile Neboo Tsebo Levine made it to the 3rd position ,while Dongmo Nguesta Cathy second runner up for UDs in this category came 5th. Tsopze VIANY and Edjangmoua Mbella both took the 6th position in the ladies 400m and 100m respectively, while Dempowo Valoche could not make it to the 1st three position of the podium but consoled himself at the 7th position.

 Two days into the competition, the athletics team of UDs is still running after the precious metals, while competitions continue tomorrow, all hope is geared towards team captain Eyango Christian to not only maintain his position as best in javelin men but also beat the record of the 2017 games in Bamenda where he made a 56m throw to win the gold medal.
