UDs clinch medals in athletics on day 3

Maroua,UDs/SIC-08/05/18.Competitions in the athletics entered day three today and UDs lined up athletes in the following categories: 800m men, high jump in the men and women’s category as well as javelin in both categories.  It was great moments of joy for team UDs when Eyango Christian reiterated his supremacy through a 54m69 throw in the men’s javelin to clinch the gold medal thus giving the athletic squad her 1st precious metal since the beginning of the competition. While Tsopze Viany hustled hard in the women’s category and came out 2^nd, thus earning her a silver medal. Tsague Gaetan after taking part in the 800m men race that earned him a bronze medal, immediately engaged in the high jump competition and despite the injury sustained during the race, he courageously went through the different stages of the competition with the determination to defend his title as champion in this category but helas could not go beyond 1m85, thus consoling himself with a silver medal. Nkemi Christelle and Dongmo Grace in the women’s category came out at the 6th and 10th position respectively.

Worthy of note is at this stage of the competition, the athletic team UDs counts 1gold, 3 silvers and 2bronzes medals in her harvest basket. Competitions continue tomorrow and all eyes are looking up to Temezeu Pierre for the 10000m men race. Let’s wait and see. DT
